Skylar was born and raised in Portland, Oregon and has spent his entire career in the Pacific Northwest.  Always having a passion for mathematics, Skylar graduated from the University of Oregon Lundquist School of Business with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Economics.  During college, Skylar apprenticed with the same firm he is with today.  He was attracted to the industry as it would allow him to use his knowledge and expertise to help guide people through different financial situations to reach their goals.

Skylar grew up surrounded by educators, and was helped raised by his grandparents, both of whom were educators and administrators within Portland Public Schools.  After working with many other public employees at the beginning of his career, he discovered there was a significant disconnect between his clients and other public employees and their knowledge of the ever-changing public employee retirement programs.  Determined to help clients make the proper choices for their families, as well as avoiding common pitfalls, Skylar has helped guide hundreds of clients not only prepare for the retirement process in their beginning stages of their own careers, but also guide them through retirement and have successful retirement income plans.

Skylar currently lives in SW Portland with his wife, Cait, son, Merritt, and two Corgis, Wick and Rambo. When he is not in the office or with clients, you will find him with his family at the Zoo, playing cribbage at the Oregon Coast, watching the Ducks at Autzen Stadium, road tripping across the PNW, or building Lego with his son.
